Your trading workflow and quantopian

Hi, I'm a beginner trader, who is still trying to figure out how quantopian is being used to fit into the trader's workflow. It seems that in one's trading strategy, there might be a need for determining market/industry sentiment (bull/bear), and then sifting through chart patterns, while marrying fundamentals knowledge, in order to come up with a new trade or an update to an existing trade.

Do you currently find quantopian extremely useful for automating:
1. Industry screens/sentiment determination (overall market direction)?
2. Technical chart patterns identification (gaps, new trends, candles...etc)?
3. Fundamental knowledge (earnings announcements, company financials, company news)?

Also, could we accomplish all of #1 and #2 easily, without importing stock screening outputs (CSVs) from external data sources?

My thought process currently is that I may need to create an automated program somewhere externally to marry these 3 aspects, before periodically sending a list of stocks into quantopian for portfolio balancing and management.

Any of you worked this workflow out yet?

Thanks for your comments,
Rich
