Frequent "Execution timeout." at five seconds with symbols() more than 40 or so (I think that timeout was tightened quite awhile ago).
What's your crash @LS.
I was running with more then 100 symbols, but also had other tabs open. It might have been the tabs.
What is the OS/hardware criteria for the Q site to perform an execution time out? I loaded a large strategy referencing 10 symbols and over three attempts to build timed out within 10 seconds of each start. Is there a maximum 'shared' memory or CPU cycles? Is there a user path to rent dedicated processing and memory 'space' to run larger strategies? Can the Q system be run on a dedicated server?
Not to be unhelpful, but I do think it's a little sub optimal to have the performance limits that seem to pop up. I think a lot of people on here work (or have worked) with thousands of instruments and tick-level data, and perhaps the full depth on top of it, so I get the idea that performance matters. But to get memory errors on something that's handling ~100 symbols and minute level data with no market depth seems quite restrictive. To the point of abandoning could-work-well models simply because they consume too many MB worth of memory.
