Hi Chen,

The analyze(context, perf) function is actually not part of the Quantopian API. Is there a chance that you may have found it in an algorithm posted in the community? Perhaps it was defined as a custom function by the algorithm author.

Chen,

So I was talking with Jamie and we came to the conclusion that you're probably talking about the example notebook for using Zipline in Research. The function you are talking about is really an adhoc function that you can tack on to an algorithm object. Long story short its just a convenient interface for looking at the results of your algo. So there isn't really any official documentation for it, we just kind of leave it open ended. I'd encourage you to go back into the notebook and add print perf.columns inside the function and see what data the perf object has to offer. From there you can experiment with plotting or what have you. Hope that helps clear things up
