Where can I get the Live Trade button

Hi,

Sorry, is my first time here. I am wondering why I cannot find the "Live Trade" button in the IDE? I remember I saw it for my previous algos, but not for this one. If someone could point me out in the right direction~.

Thank you.

Ted Chou.

There currently isn't a "Live Trade" button in the IDE. Live trading was discontinued in September 2017. One can enter an algo into the contest by clicking the "Enter Contest" button (above the date boxes) in the IDE. One can also enter an algo into the contest from the backtest results screen. There is a blue "Enter Contest" to the far right in the top menu bar.

To paper trade, run a backtest, add /old to the end of the URL and load that page. The live trade button should appear top right of the old backtest page (this is only for paper trading now though)

Thanks, I found it.

Yes, after I ran a full backtest, I found the paper trade button on the top right.

Seems quiet inconspicuous, I wonder if we can improve that?

If one wants to 'paper trade', in addition to reverting to the old backtest as @Jamie mentioned (good catch BTW), go to the current backtest results page. There is a small icon that looks like two crossing arrows to the left of the blue "Enter Contest" button. This is to the right in the top menu bar. Hover over the icon and it says "Paper Trade".

Note also that live paper trading is only available for datasets with no holdout periods. So mostly price/volume, Morningstar, and the two sentiment datasets I believe. No FactSet data in other words.
