What does it mean when a order is held?

The order object has 5 different status.

0 = Open
1 = Filled
2 = Cancelled
3 = Rejected
4 = Held

What is the difference between Filled and Held is it the same thing? Furthermore when is an order Cancelled vs Rejected?

Filled and held are different
A filled order indicates that the order has been completely filled.
A held order indicates the broker (IB in this case) is trying to locate shares for a short sell.

Orders are rejected by the broker for many reasons. Most commonly, they are rejected because of insufficient funds, the security can not be found, or it is not allowed in your account. An order will show as cancelled, if you are the one who cancels an order, as opposed to the broker.

Does RobinHood have the same statuses?

Robinhood statuses are the same except for held because you cannot short sell with Robinhood. However, Open, filled, cancelled, rejected remain the same.
