What are ideal/practical best return, drawdown values?

Hi, I am new to this and am liking this so far.

Can some experts help me with the below questions

  • What is the maximum return (with minimal drawdown) you have seen here so far? What should I aim to achieve? Reasonable numbers that are acceptable
  • Are there any existing best algos that I can use for live/paper trading?

Thanks all
Sam

Hello Sam, welcome to Quantopian!

Different people want different performance from their algorithms - you can probably get a wide variety of answers from members of the community. For Quantopian's purposes, however, we are looking to allocate money to a very specific set of performance characteristics. You can read about what we're looking for on our fund page.

I don't have an example for you that is "click here, this one makes money." There are a lot of things shared on Quantopian, but the best money makers tend to stay secret. But the basic mean reversion example has a lot of key ideas in it that will get you started.

Thanks Dan. I have written an algo that has these outputs. It is not short and long same time though. I will share it in a separate thread, please critique:
