Timing for EPS seems inaccurate.

Is the quarterly EPS data mapped to the appropriate filing date? If not, what is it mapped to?

Wells Fargo 10-K for FY2016 was not posted to www.sec.gov until March 1, 2017. However, when running the query from MorningStar using the fundamentals.earnings_report, it shows that figure was available as of January 18, 2017. Another example is Q3 FY2016. Q3 10Q for Fy2016 was posted on November 3, 2016. However, the query shows that figure was available as of October 18, 2016.

Any update on this?

Hello Yuhi and Jonathan,

For Q4/2016 data, Wells Fargo issued a press release on January 13th/2017 followed by a 8-K filling with the SEC where it makes this data publicly available.

We surfaced the data on January 18th/2017 because that was when we received the update from Morningstar. The "as of date" value tells us the date to which the data corresponds. For example, for data corresponding to Q4 of 2016, the as of date is 12/31/2016.

The same is true for Q3. Wells Fargo made the data available through a press release on October 14th/2016, and followed up with an 8-K filling on the same date.
