I was working on some strategies using fundamentals but I noticed they are not supported so I guess not allowed in the competition either right?

Definitive plans in this direction. We're currently in the testing/bug squashing phase for developing this exact feature.
We're very anxious to get it out there for your use. I'm optimistic for its availability next week.

We're working on it, I promise. Each time we get close to release, we find a blocker of a bug. I'm kind of sick of working on the feature at this point :)
First, we'll allow paper trading with Quantopian. Then we'll unleash for real money trading.
