Symbols of stocks returned by Fundamental Query

Hey ,

I am trying to store the symbols of the stocks returned by fundamental query. I am using the following code:

for stock in fundamental_df:
       store_symbol_array.append(stock.symbol)

It gives a runtime error. How do I go about it ?

When using get_fundamentals you usually update_universe. As a parameter update_universe takes a collection of SIDs, so the same variable you give as a parameter to update_universe can be set to a context. variable. So all you need to do is...

context.stocks = fundamental_df.columns.values

But James , it will return me the whole security object . I just want to store the symbol or SID . Since I will be working with a large data set storing the whole security object will take up a lot of memory and time.

context.stocks = [security.symbol for security in fundamental_df.columns.values]
