You must be using the symbols
method define your target security? A never ending source of frustration (though I like to think of it as just another challenge) is in the research environment there is a single symbols
method for fetching security objects. In the IDE there are two methods - symbols
and symbol
. In the IDE symbols
always returns a list (so use it when fetching several securities) while symbol
returns a single object.
So, this must be similar to what you have working in the research environment
beta = SimpleBeta(target=symbols('AAPL'), regression_length=200), 'beta')
The symbols
method in this case returns a single object (because it's given a single symbol). The SimpleBeta
factor is happy. However, put that same code into the IDE and the SimpleBeta
factor throws an error because, in the IDE, the symbols
method returns a list. The SimpleBeta
factor is not happy.
The solution? Replace symbols
with symbol
in the IDE.
beta = SimpleBeta(target=symbol('AAPL'), regression_length=200), 'beta')
That should do it. Good luck.
