I can use:
print get_environment('start')
to see the start date. Is there a way to set the start date to just use the last 10 days?

While there is no built-in function for this, you can use a bit of a hack solution.
When you launch your algo, you can use a context boolean variable in conjunction with datetime.datetime.now to track whether your backtest date is in the last 10 days or not. Of course, this will distort your results/risk metrics, so you will have to decide whether its worth it or if you would rather just manually adjust the start date!
