Sample with initial stop loss that then converts to a trailing stop loss after certain point

Hello,

I am new to Quantopian and have some experience with Python but have build modes perviously on a Bloomberg which i have learned is quite different. I am trying to replicate those models as close as i can and maybe even improve them. There are some factors that are not available on Quantopian ...yet. I was wondering if anyone has a sample script with an initial stop loss than then turns into a trailing stop loss that i could have. That is possible to to right? Like i said new to Quantopian but think it is a great looking company with lots of possibilities. I would welcome anyone with the part of the script i am looking; mentioned above. The rest of what i want to do i have a handle on but the stop loss stuff is still a bit much for me at this point.

My Regards,
Colin

Hi Colin,

Welcome to Quantopian, and thanks for posting. I think you'll find that, for many techniques such as stop loss/trailing stop loss, there are members of the community who have posted their code already. Here's an example search that could help you find some relevant example code.

Sorry yeah figured that out. I posted my attempt to combine two strategies from here one long-short and trailing stop loss without any luck. Any tips or advice? You can find it under my latest post.
