research environment feature requests

didn't find a feature request thread so here goes with a couple of things that I think could save time and effort:

1) I find that I'm using common routines (the Tearsheet Analysis routines, for example) repeatedly. Being able to save these (as modules/packages?) and import them instead of having to cut and paste would really help. An added bonus would be if these could be shared....

2) I use external data quite a lot, so non-persistence of local data - especially useful for extending backtesting beyond 2002 - is quite a time waster.

Thanks for the suggestions. We are currently working on improving the tearsheet, so expect some changes!

As for your second suggestion, one thing you can do is upload a CSV to the platform containing your data. In the future, we'll add the capability to write CSV files etc., at which point you could stash the file if it does not yet exist, then read from that stored file.

Hi Dave,
I completely agree that the lack of persistence in the data folder is an issue. It's high on the priority list to get worked on.
