For regular quantopian backtesting orders such as order_target_percent, they are market orders I believe, which means that in live trading, for a buy order on a spread of 10.00 - 10.50, it would cross the spread and buy at the lowest offer (10.50)?
If I am understanding this correctly, then relative orders with a 2 cent offset would place a limit order of 10.02. Is this correct?
Relative orders then, seem to be a decent way to improve price and possibly decrease the chance of an order being filled compared to market orders.
