questions from a newbie

just tried Q since last week. great tool and platform.

a few questions need help:

1) is there a way to write some free-text memo for each backtest -- so one could write keep track of thoughts/finding for each of the backtest done (for a given algo).
2) is there an API documentation for talib -- What I mean is the arguments (and their order of appearance) for each TA-function?

TIA

Hi TIA,

  1. There isn't a native notepad or memo tool available for the backtest. A possible hack is to invite yourself to collaborate using another email account. You can then use the chat feature to leave yourself notes. The browser will remember your chat history from session to session.

  2. The general overview for TA-LIB is available in the API Help Doc. To discover the syntax details for a particular method, I would suggest to search in the community posts, many of the popular ones (RSI, MA, ATR, BANDS, LINEARREG) have been shared in the forum. If you have a specific question, you can post a question to the community or take a look at the method's source code for the argument details.

Cheers,
Alisa
