Quantopian-sponsored Meetup Series - want to meet the Quantopian team in a city near you?

It has been awhile since we last posted about our Meetup Series - so long that you might not even know we sponsor a Meetup Series!

Well we do, Quantopian has been running meetings both in our hometown of Boston: http://www.meetup.com/Boston-Algorithmic-Trading/ and also in NYC: http://www.meetup.com/NYC-Algorithmic-Trading/ for some time now, and this December we will be hosting our first ever Bay Area Meetup (http://www.meetup.com/Bay-Area-Algorithmic-Trading/)

While we can't meet our entire Quantopian community face to face, at least not all in one room, we love organizing in person events to talk about algorithmic trading and we'd love to see you there!

Our upcoming fall lineup (subject to change) is:

Boston: This Thursday! 10/24 6:30pm at Workbar (711 Atlantic Ave, Boston) - with Peter Millington to talk about new techniques for finding alpha using new technologies and new information sets.

NYC: 11/21 7pm at Spark Capital (138 Spring St, NYC) - with Quantopian community member and frequent meetup attendee Gary Chan to talk about DIY pairs trading

SF: 12/19 - time & venue TBD - with Hugh Genin of StarMine Research (Thomson Reuters) to talk about finding alpha in Insider Trading filings.

If you don't see your city and you'd like to meet us let us know. We'd love to hear from you on the next places we should visit, on what topics you'd like to cover, maybe even on what speakers you'd like us to bring in!

Thanks,
Jess

Hello Jess,

Could these be recorded, please? This video is really good:

apart from the noise of the camera auto-focussing every few seconds!

Hi Peter,

Great point - yes, we will make every effort to record and post these sessions to youtube as we go. I just confirmed that we will be filming the one this week in Boston.

Thanks for raising that point!
Jess

Just opened up the RSVP list for our next NYC Algorithmic Trading Meetup: http://www.meetup.com/NYC-Algorithmic-Trading/events/142412082/

Grab a spot before it fills up, I just noticed we already have over half of our capacity filled - yikes!

Portland, Oregon would be great, but we are on the west coast. I would be there for sure!

If you are all still doing this, have Nashville in mind. Cheers--
