Quantopian crowd-sourced but not crowd-funded?

Dan Dunn recently sent a broadcast e-mail with a section "Quantopian New Hires: Preparing to Manage External Capital" which drives home the point that Quantopian is gearing up to go after external money.

Will there be an crowd-funded element to this effort? Say I wanted to put in $100. Could I? Or would I have to have a lot more zeros on the check?

It would be great if the fund(s) were open to all 80,000+ Quantopian users, but maybe the mechanics are impractical and it is difficult/expensive from a regulatory standpoint (qualified investor and all that jazz)?

Any thoughts on bitcoin/cryptocurrency for investment/payment? Seems to be popular these days. Or are you sticking to greenbacks for now?
