Python Vs. Lua

Hello All,

Question is if I code an Algo in Python....and the broker uses Lua for their language source. FXCM.com....How difficult is it to convert. I am brand new to coding, actually have not yet done it before lol. But before I go code it in Python (OR Attempt) I want to know if it will be too difficult to switch to Lua. Idk if they are both completely different.

Help will be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks!!
Chris

I've never coded in Lua, but it looked interesting when I was deciding on a language to use. It was definitely a finalist due to it's lightweight and flexible approach. I have to say, however, that was ultimately sold on Python.

I have post a rambling about this sort of thing here: http://the-world-is.com/blog/

Thanks for the Reply I am checking the website out now!

David, awesome post! I really enjoyed it.

I'd suggest that you give python credit under "intended uses" for statistical programming because of pandas, statsmodels, etc. Also I think Numpy (and soon blaze) make python a numerical language too.
