Problem with using result of query in another query

I try to use companies which i selected in another query, but i can't figure out how to limit filter to selected companies. I used the cik identifier but it doesn't work.

the problem with:

.filter(fundamentals.company_reference.cik.in_(cik)

P.S. I can constract the single query but it's not very practical since in the research you often don't know all filters from the very beginning.

Hi Andrey,

Thanks for posting. The issue here is that cik, constructed by this line

cik = USA_basic_materials[4:5]

is a Pandas DataFrame (2D array), because you constructed it by taking a slice of another DataFrame (USA_basic_materials). You really want cik to be a Series (1D array) so that you can check if a given equity's cik is in that list. To construct a Series from a DataFrame, use something like .loc, .iloc, or .ix. There's some Pandas documentation on that here. Basically, you can use one of the below

cik = USA_basic_materials.loc['cik']
cik = USA_basic_materials.iloc[4]

and your query will work.
