This looks like a great place to start! Have you seen the new Fundamentals data with Morningstar that we've released? Or the new schedule_function method (which is great for making your code run in minutely mode)?
If you're looking for information in creating a more sophisticated algorithm, [check out the Quantopian tutorials we have going on right now 3. The first lesson covers a more advanced version of the algorithm you've posted.
