paper trading without IB/Robinhood

Hi

Is it possible to paper trade without making an account with a broker? What historical data sets will be available and will there be a delay? Any other comments on this are most welcome too.

I could not get a very clear answer to this through FAQs or the existing forum posts.

Thanks
MD

Bump! Any ideas anyone?

Hello,

Yes, you can paper trade an algorithm with "Quantopian Paper Trading". When you run a full backtest, you can click the "Live Trade" button and select Quantopian Paper Trading as the option. The feed on Quantopian paper trading is 15 minutes. This is also what's used in the Quantopian Open.

Everything that's available to the rest of the platform is also available in Quantopian paper trading. That includes free pricing data and volume data for all 8000+ US equities, Morningstar fundamental data, and dozens of partner datasets. Some of the partner datasets are free, and some are on a freemium model where you have free access to historical data up to a certain point, but the live feed requires a subscription.
