Just a heads-up that this function call suddenly started failing in backtest IDEs.

This is worse than I thought - :( - this error stopped an algo I had been paper trading for a few weeks.
This function was blocked because we uncovered a vulnerability where data could be exported from the platform. Per our agreement with the vendor, we unfortunately can't distribute the data, so this function was removed.
Before we ship any platform changes, we check if they affect real money algorithms, and then the feature is upgraded. I think your paper algo can keep running, and I'll shoot you an email privately to follow up.

I stumbled across this restriction, as well:
https://www.quantopian.com/posts/error-pd-dot-set-option-mode-dot-use-inf-as-null-true
I suggest adding a more descriptive error message than:
Accessing pd.set_option raised an AttributeError. No attributes with a similar name were found.
For example, say that the function has been blocked (e.g. "Use of pandas.set_option blocked due to platform security restriction" or some such thing). This way, it is clear that the error was not generated due to syntax.
Also, could you block only the options that allow data export?
