Seeking Help Getting Started Machine Learning

Hey everyone! New to the Quantopian community! My name is Sunny and I'm a computer engineering major at UIUC! Focusing on AI.

Always had a passion for computers and the financial markets. Currently trade on the forex markets. Recently learned about the different machine learning models. I've been exposed to:

  1. Regression Models (ex. linear regression, polynomial regression, multivariable linear regression)
  2. Classification Models (ex. logistic regression, SVM, k-neighbors, naive bayes, random forest)
  3. Clustering Models (ex. KNN, hierarchical clustering)

My favorite model so far is the logistic regression. Have written some scripts in Python using the libraries: numpy, pandas, and sklearn.

Going to learn about ANNs and RNNs next. Coming up soon!

If you guys have any tips on how to accelerate the learning, let me know! Also, what's your favorite model? 😊

Welcome to Quantopian! Your background and eagerness to learn set you up to make meaningful contributions here.

While I'm definitely interested in Deep Learning, I continue to be amazed how well Random Forrests perform on almost anything you throw at it.
