New comer's puzzle...XD

Nice to be here. And I have a question, in those articles, I only see the authors define some functions, but how could those functions definitions generated the right-hand side dynamic backtesting graph?

Really need some help, many thanks @[email protected]

Most of the work that goes into producing the backtest plots is done behind the scenes by Quantopian. The idea behind our platform is to provide an environment that makes it easier for Quants to design their own trading algorithms without having to worry about a lot off the programming challenges involved like data collection, visualization, and more.

If you haven't already seen them, to help you get started, there are a series of tutorials that will walk you through some of the basics of our platform.

  1. The basics of the IDE: https://www.quantopian.com/posts/quantopian-tutorial-with-sample-momentum-algorithm-lesson-1-the-basics-of-the-ide
  2. Universe, Fetcher, and a Rebalancing Algorithm: https://www.quantopian.com/posts/q-tutorial-series-2-universe-fetcher-and-portfolio-rebalance-algorithm

After the tutorials, feel free to make your own algorithm, run your own backtests, or play around in our Research environment to get a feel for how everything works. If all goes well, enter it in our contest!
