Naming self serv data

I created one self serv data named "gdp". When I reference it to create a slice, it says "UnboundLocalError: local variable 'gdp' referenced before assignment". So I have to re-create a similar data named "mygdp" then it works.

Is there any naming convention for self serv data sets? Any names to avoid?

As I request in another post, it would be nice for Q to provide a delete button for users to remove unused or wrong data, or functionality to modify it

@Shuang Liang This is on our 'to do' list. There are some technical issues associated with deleting active datasets. For now, please contact support with the names of any feeds you would like deleted. Our engineering team can remove them for you.

There aren't any specific names to avoid for ones datasets. Like any variable name, it's best to avoid python reserved words or names of any imported functions and modules. Its also good practice to not duplicate names or have them the same as attribute names. For instance, it's not good practice to have a dataset named gdp but then also have the data column named gdp.

The following should work (assuming ones self serve dataset is named gdp, and the data field is named data, and the mapping ticker is 'SPY')

from quantopian.interactive.data.user_xxxxxxxxx  import gdp

gdp_data = gdp.data.latest
gdp_slice = gdp_data[symbols('AAPL')]
