Lots of ways to make money on Quantopian

Ways to make money so far (mid 2015):

  1. Self-Directed
Write one or more algorithms and activate on your a real, live money account(s) at one of Quantopian's partner brokers:
    a) Interactive Brokers (minimum $10,000, low fees)
    b) ETrade (minimum $500, higher fees)

  2. Quantopian Open - Contest
Take part in the Quantopian Open, a contest where the winner each month is awarded $100,000 to trade with for the next six months, keeping profits. Initially set to run each month for six months, Quantopian may extend the contest indefinitely. You can see how the winners are doing, and the current standings (plus upcoming) contest at https://www.quantopian.com/leaderboard.

  3. Paper Trading
Write as many algorithms as you like and simply start them all "Paper Trading" (real market data 15 minutes delayed), not for real money. Quantopian is able to see the results of paper trading algos and will be choosing some to include in their Hedge Fund.

  4. Hedge Fund
Become a participant in the Quantopian Hedge Fund Managers Program (where you take on the role of manager) and your algorithm will trade in a range from $1 Million to $25 Million, and you keep a portion of those profits.

  5. Other Connections
With algorithm results to show, surely rounding up an investor or two independently is fair game.

Not to mention you can write articles for trading magazines using Quantopian as a base platform for code experiments and research. (And real research now with their new discovery offering).

In fact, the Q should think about promoting a Quantitative Analysis Online Magazine. They've obviously got a bunch of free help available here who work for cheap. And if they're not going to fix this monstrous morass of a forum, maybe a tasteful article driven site would serve to highlight the tons of good tips and algos that have been written here.

Hi, I wanted to know whether all of these contests are still in play
