Lots of live algo's failing with pipeline error ....

at the line where I assign the output of the pipe, my live algo's fail with an error like:

The error occurred on line(s) XXX with the high-level message, TypeError: Expected str, got unicode.

As far as I can see it has to do with external datasources

Hope Q cansolve it before the market opens!

Same problem here....

same

Yes, I can confirm this.

I got email today that two of my live algos are down. As I analyse it I am sure the Q has changed the data type of cboe.vix. Maybe on all the data type in pipeline?

This error is really not funny since my algos are live and are down now!

thanks quantopian

Hello,

Our engineering team identified a problem with our Pipeline API this morning. This affected backtests and paper/live trading algorithms. We have resolved the issue and continued paper/live trading algorithms that had not been re-deployed. If the live algorithm has been trading for a long time, the warmup process might extend beyond market open (9:30am ET) and cause a late start. The live trading dashboard should begin receiving market data once the warmup process is complete.

All contest entries will be re-qualified, without any intervention needed on your end. Apologies for any inconvenience. To track the issue, please visit https://status.quantopian.com/

This issue has been resolved 3(?) times now... I can only lose so much money to an issue that has been "solved "

@jacob. I would look at a paid platform alternative if I were you. Quantopian is great for ideas but the live trading is lights years from being ready for prime time. There's no point wasting effort constantly checking in on an algo to ensure it's working, that's more than half the benefit to using an algo in the first place, is that you set the rules and then forget it
