hi all
I'd like to have my algorithm send me a note every time it makes a trade (or otherwise issue regularly scheduled portfolio updates etc). What's the best way to do this? I know IB triggers trade confirmations on a daily basis, too; but I'm looking for some additional flexibility.

Hi Mikko, currently you can't generate automatic emails or SMS alerts from your algorithm. Though it has been requested by others in the past! I'd like to see it, but it's not being worked on at the moment. In the meantime, you can log information in your algo (ie when a trade occurs or a signal is reached): https://www.quantopian.com/help#ide-logging
