Install Quantopian Zipline

Hello !

I want to install Quantopian Zipline.

I write in Anaconda Prompt:
"conda install -c Quantopian zipline" then I get:
"Solving environment: failed

UnsatisfiableError: The following specifications were found to be in c
- blaze
- zipline
Use "conda info " to see the dependencies for each package."

What went wrong ? How can I install Quantopian zipline ?

Thanx !

Bernhard

Hi Bernhard,

Can you try making a new conda env for Python 3.5?

I believe the syntax for that is: conda create -n zip35 python=3.5, and then try installing zipline?

hi freddie !

I activate it now with $ conda activate zip35
I did the last update with $ conda update -n base conda

I want to run this algorithm: https://www.quantopian.com/posts/quantcon-2016-dual-momentum-strategy

but when I want to run it, this comes:
"ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'quantopian'"

Why ?

Thanx !

Hi Bernhard,

The reason for that error is that the quantopian module is only available on the Quantopian platform. You'll have to use the zipline equivalent by changing from quantopian.(thing) to from zipline.(thing).

hi freddi !

I changed from quantopian.(thing) to from zipline.(thing).
now I get: "ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'zipline'"
before I got: "ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'quantopian'"

before I activated it with $ conda activate zip35 at "anaconda prompt"

What can I do, that it will work ?
