Hi,

We currently only support backtesting for US stocks and ETFs. But you can use fetcher to import any external data in csv format. This external data can be used as a trading signal, but the Quantopian backtester can only buy/sell the sids in our database using our prices. We don't have the ability at this point to run backtests with other price series.
That being said, check out this post to use Fetcher with any dataset: https://www.quantopian.com/posts/use-the-fetcher-for-any-quandl-dataset
Also take a look Zipline, which is our open-sourced backtesting engine. You can use it off-line and integrate with a Yahoo data feed.

Hi Saeed,
Here is some old (2008/09) Perl code that I had, to fetch the stock data for NSE/BSE and to buy and sell (paper trading) and maintain a portfolio.
You might need to massage the code a bit to make it work (in case the yahoo api has changed or in case you use a newer version of Perl)
You can grab it from here...
