IDE questions ?

(1) When I am coding on a laptop, I want to use the entire screen. I can't seem to be able to minimize the output/log panels. Is it just a chrome setting that I don't know about ?

(2) Sometimes, I just want to build the code without running the backtest, is that possible ?

thanks in advance

  1. If you drag the middle divider (between the code and the graphs) all the way to the right, you will get a full screen. Take a look at the image here (and other IDE tips): https://www.quantopian.com/help#api-ide-tips

  2. You can't build the code without running a backtest. However if you press ctrl+B (on a PC) or cmd+B (on a mac) this will start a quick backtest. If you set your backtest window for 1 day, this will serve as a quick syntax check for your code.
