IB,Two-Factor Authentication and Live Trading

Hi

I recently set up an IB account and have been able to live trade by connecting Quantopian to my paper trading account. I've tried connecting my real money account, which has two-factor authentication courtesy of the IB Key app.. When I try to login I get the notification to authenticate on the IB Key app, which I do, and it says authentication succeeded, but on the Quantopian side it says an unknown error occurred and fails.

Do I need to turn off two-factor authentication on my IB account? Any tips and/or help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, we don't support all of the two-factor methods that IB does. We only support the "bingo card" method so far. We've looked at adding other two-factor methods but we haven't done it yet.

One workaround is to use distinct accounts. IB lets you create additional accounts pretty easily, and you can put different security levels on them. So you can create one account for integration with Quantopian.
