How to invest in funds

How does an individual investor, invest into a quantopian fund?

How does an individual investor, invest with a peer developer/manager who has a good model, in a secure way, where the algorithm developer does not have to give away the code, and the investor does not have to give away his account information and control?

How does one evaluate a peers algorithmic model, negotiate a fee and apply their model to their account?
The contest is definitely a place to pick winners or algorithms with specific attributes that an investor is looking for.
But when deciding to invest with a particular algorithm, how does an individual investor, go about
1. investing
2. tracking if live trading matches up
3. Have some sort of protective down side trigger to stop trading the algorithm, of things went more south than expected.

Imagine full backtests where the code is not viewable (compiled at that point) where we could assign them to other people, friends etc.
They would set up their own independent IB and Quantopian accounts.
