How many algorithms are in the contest?

I would just like to know...

Also what is the best performance that an algorithm would need to have so that it may just win...

Also... is just one month used to determine the outcome, or simply all months for which it ran on live data ?

Thx,
Michal.

Hi Michal,

You can submit up to 3 algorithms to the Quantopian Open. The algorithms will be scored on a combination of backtest performance and paper trading performance in today's market. The judging details are available here.

An algorithm will be crowned a winner every month. It is a rolling contest, so if your algo doesn't win the first month, that's ok! Keep it running and it's still possible to win the next month, or the month after that. The longer your algorithm is paper trading, the more of a track record it's developing.

Good luck!

Hi,

We will reveal the leaderboard later this week -- we are finishing up on automation of the daily ranking process. As of Friday, we had 30 contest submissions. Thanks for your patience while we put the finishing touches on the leader board.

Hello Fawce,

Regarding the leaderboard, will user names or algo names be posted? Hopefully not. How will algos be identified?

Grant

Grant,

We link the submission to the user's profile, but the algo title is private. See for yourself: https://www.quantopian.com/leaderboard. Drill down to see details, including the submission date that you can use to distinguish

Nice job landing on the first page of results :).

thanks,
fawce

Thanks Fawce,
