Sorry if this has been asked before, but how do I schedule an action of close of day or the very beginning of the day?
Something like "time_rule=time_rules.market_open(minutes=0)" is not accepted.
I want to update some information I keep on a set schedule before trading begins.
thanks

Perhaps I should have put this under "schedule_function". I have seen the before_trading_start method, but it just takes context, not data.
Should I just shove data into context so I can get to it?
thanks

Either approach would likely work -- sounds like wanting access to data would push me towards suggesting schedule_function()

Hi Igor,

Do you have an example of what you're trying to work with? Trying to put 'data' into context might end up giving you a 1 day lag since the first time handle_data gets called is AFTER before_trading_starts when the backtest runs.

As Josh said, using schedule_function with time_rule=time_rules.market_open(minutes=1) will give you the closest to market open execution time that we currently support.

Thanks,
Seong
