Seeking Help Getting Started Tools and Tips Feature Request Collaboration Request

Hi everyone :D ,
Firstly some background knowledge for you all.
- I'm in high school and therefore do not know high level math nor CS.
- I know some low-level Python.
- However I do not quite a lot about finance, ETF's etc. as I'm doing economics and business at school

What I would like to know:
- I've had a look around Quantopian but it all still seems quite
confusing to me e.g. Pipeline?!?
- How do you start a project and how
do you make scaffolds for yourself e.g. example on how to layout
projects and project ideas please.
- Any other background knowledge and
things that I should know before diving in.

Here's something to play with. Plain vanilla fixed ratio stock/bond portfolio. --Grant

Hi Ashish,

Asset Allocation is all about finding the right assets (symbols) , right proportions and right time to change them.
For example:
I took Grant Kiehne simple Plain vanilla stock/bond portfolio and made some small changes.
1.Change stock symbol to less aggressive VTI -> XLP
2.Change bond symbol to more aggressive BND -> TLT
3.Changed stock percentage from 60% to 55% and respectively change bond percentage from 40% to 45%
4 Changed re balance from month_start() to month_end() and time from market_open to market_close.

If the backtest results on full market cycle are better than the market results then you are on yours way to beat the market (what all here are trying to do).
