I use set_universe(universe.DollarVolumeUniverse(floor_percentile=98.0,ceiling_percentile=100.0)) in my algorithm. However it returns stocks as well as ETFs. How can I filter out the ETFs?
Hey Pavy,
Unfortunately, we don't have any quick way to filter out ETFs from set_universe. One way to go about it would be to use 'fetch_csv()' to import a list of symbols that you want to exclude, and in 'handle_data()' exclude those stocks from the universe.
Something like:
def handle_data(context, data):
#: Remove all stocks that aren't valid
to_remove = []
#: Add all stocks to be removed into a list
for stock in data:
#: data['to_remove'] being the CSV you imported in using fetch_csv(link, symbol='to_remove')
if stock in data['to_remove']:
to_remove.append(stock)
#: Go through list and delete stocks
for i in to_remove:
del data[i]
