Getting Started with Quandl

Hi,
I'm having troubles getting started with Quandl within the Research environment. The final code should work according to the Quandl website, but is throwing an error. I'm hoping someone can help me do a simple data grab and maybe give an example. Thanks!

Hi Jake,

We only allow specific libraries to be used on Quantopian and the quandl library provided by quandl is not one one of them. If you'd like to use data from quandl on research, you've got two options:

1) As you've seen, if the data is listed at quantopian.com/data among those pre-integrated into Quantopian, you can use the Quandl data as you demonstrate in the notebook.

2) If it isn't among those pre-integrated, you can download the data in question from Quandl to a local csv and then use the local_csv function to load the data into your notebook. Some of the tutorials show how this can be done.

Thanks Josh, this is exactly the answer I was looking for.
