Fun with the Editor and auto-save [ save-as, version control ]

I was in the editor (chrome) and highlighted a couple lines, pressed delete.

oops, I wanted them back, so right click, undo -> highlighted everything
try again right click, undo -> deleted everything

AUTOSAVE

all gone...

maybe I should just stick to ctl-x

so... is there a way to undo a delete?

and on the same subject:
I guess I should implement some version control, is there such a thing as 'Save-As'?
or is there some version control built in?

thanks

Sorry to hear that.

CTRL-Z is undo and should recover it.
CTRL-Y is redo

Those both work for 10 or so levels back and forth (it keeps a history).
Don't fret, when I have done that in my life the rewrite was always better.
I periodically copy algos locally.

'Right click > Undo' is definitely a bug, as you pointed out it highlights everything.

thanks, I've been using alt-backspace so long I didn't think there was another way. Now that you mention it I see my keyboard even has them printed on the keys...

y, the rewrite is better, I just posted because I could imagine losing a few k lines of code the way are set up for everything in 1 file

actually I see I was selecting a few lines and hitting TAB to indent them and that deletes them. Any good ideas on selecting multiple lines to indent or outdent?

Hi Karl,

I'm on a mac, but I think this works on PC too - you can indent code blocks by selecting multiple lines and then pressing the command key and the right or left bracket key simultaneously, so command-] (to increase indent) or command-[ (to decrease indent)

Hope that works for you!
Jess
