I just joined Quantopian today so I'm not very familiar with the platform. Also, I'm not an expert on investing.
That being said, I modified the sample algorithm to include commissions and be a bit more customizable. I'm using BBRY (Blackberry / Research in Motion) from 1/2/13 to 9/20/13 with 20k initial capital. Running the algorithm shows a 12.3% gain.
Would love feedback on my algorithm for things I missed and things that don't make sense.
Any help is much appreciated.

I think your commissions are too high - it depends, of course, but IB's not that high.
I lowered the commissions and added a "record" line so it's easier to visualize what's going on.
