I'm new to this and the API - What would be the code to focus in on stocks with unusual volume?
Is there a 60+ day volume average that I could look at for comparison?
Bobby, welcome! All of the pricing and volume data is adjusted for splits and mergers. There are a few ways in the API you can focus on volume-based trading:
- Pipeline API using
USEquityPricing.volume - History to get the trailing volume window
You can start coding on specific stocks in the backtest IDE or better yet, go to research to visualize the trends and analyze the data. Perhaps you'll find a signal to track, and then can code an algorithm in the IDE based on your custom signal.
