Finding returns from a sell order?

Is there a way to find the returns (how much gross money I got) from a sell order (order(security, 0))?
It seems like there is no such method in the order object.

There isn't a direct way to see the gross money that you got, unfortunately. We don't make the fill price available on the order object. it's something we've gotten a few requests for, but we haven't gotten to it.

You can get a good estimate by recording the current price at the time that you sell, but that's not going to be exact.

You should be able to get the information exactly post-hoc when you analyze your returns in the research environment.

amazing! I was just going to post the same question when I saw it was posted a day ago.
Yea, it would truly be beneficial and help learning which of the assets managed in the portfolio, was not managed right.

You definitely can do that in research using get_backtest() and get_live_results(). The limitation here is that your algorithm can't know, exactly, the proceeds of a sale. But the information is available for your analysis afterwards.
