This post is a continuation of Finding Alpha in Political Contributions: Data Processing.
In the Data Processing notebook attached to the first post, we transformed raw data from the Federal Election Commission into a .csv file for upload into Self-Serve. In this notebook, we upload the data using Self-Serve, then use Alphalens to analyze political contributions as an alpha factor.
To learn more about the motivation behind this project, check out the description provided in the first post; essentially, we're using political campaign contributions as an alpha factor under the hypothesis that donating to politicians benefits companies' bottom line.
Note: The notebook attached here should be run on the Quantopian research environment, not on your local machine.
