Finance Programming Jobs for Undergraduate Degree

Hey all,

I really enjoy programming the stock market. I will have a BA in Economics with a double minor in math and business in the spring. I am wondering whether there are any programming jobs without the need for a MS or PHD. I heard at a Career Fair about the JP Morgan Solutions Team. I know this is slightly unrelated, could you let me know what kind of job that could be?

Thanks,

Quantdog

I worked at Bloomberg in NYC for a few years, and they take in undergrads into their short-form (for CS grads) and long-form (for other grads) training programs. It seems to be a viable path into finance/tech/Wall Street for people starting out.

After you graduate from the program, you get matched with a department to do junior software developer stuff; writing C++/Javascript for the Bloomberg Terminal, getting mentored by a senior developer, that sort of thing. I can recommend the Derivatives department as a great place to work in general. If you wind up joining, I can give your some more specific opinions in private.

Simon.
