[feature request] Compare backtests

It would be pretty cool if there was a way to compare one backtest with another, either from the same or different algorithms. Like if you wanted to see how your algo does compared to just buying x of the top stocks in your universe, or where a tweak in your algo provides benefits and where it does more poorly. Was working with an algo today and thought this would be really cool.

If you run a full backtest of the code, you can compare the runs:

To get there from the IDE:

  1. Press the "Run Full Backtest" button
  2. Click "All Backtests" in the top right-hand corner. (Tip - in that corner you can also see the code that ran that backtest)
  3. Press "Compare" to see the code and risk metric differences between two runs

Also, within the Quantopian Research platform, the get_backtests() command is amazingly powerful. You can pull in as many backtests as you want and compare them across any axis.

Awesome! Didn't know about this. Thanks!

Dear Support,

Is it possible to compare more than two backtests? It works for me but only when there are two backtests selected.

Thanks
