European data?

Hi,

are there any plans in the forseeable future to add data for European stocks to Quantopian?

Regards,

Martin

Or if there is anyone here who knows about potential sources of European equities data (even the paid one), I would appreciate any tips.

@Sanning,

European equities data is easily obtained. How much do you want to pay? If the answer is $2000 or so a month, lease a Bloomberg terminal and use their python or C++ API. You can not get a better source of data that covers hundreds of markets, all asset classes and market, fundamental, estimate and a myriad of other useful pieces of investment information.

If you want to pay -0- and do a little coding, there are many sources of free online data that can be compiled into a useful set for algorithmic trading. I would start with quantshare, a really great resource for quants. Also, you can get data from yahoo but be aware of survivorship bias.

With a bit of sleuthing, googling and coding you can create a rather good dataset of European equities.

Good luck!

Could I trade in a live trading European market using only Interactive Brokers as data feed in live trading, in case you had the subscription to real data for European markets of course? And what about the restriction of the Interactive Brokers base currency account, in that case would it be able to have an IB account in euros as base currency?

Hi all, is it possible to trade us future products in asian hours or european hours ? Thanks a million !
