Is the lack of data around "short-able" stocks related to the fact that the Qfund doesn't have to worry about HTB fees? If not, I am wondering why this information hasn't been offered yet. As of now, I use Quantopian for research and trade all the strategies that don't fit the contest requirements through Alpaca which currently only offers the short-selling of ETB stocks. I think it would be beneficial to most to better test the performance of short-selling strategies with both ETB and HTB filters/universe selections.
This may or may not be especially important with the recent news that outside funds will start to license Q-algorithms that don't necessarily adhere to the Qfund requirements. Are they expected to also absorb HTB fees without infliction?
