EquityPricing Closing Price Difference

Hi there, I am new to quantopian so pardon me if this may sound like a stupid question to ask. I am using the EquityPricing to get the closing price of stocks on 23/9/20 and i noticed that the closing prices i got for some of the stocks are different from that of google and yahoo. For example, when i look at AAPL, the closing price on google is 107.12, but the price i got from EquityPricing is 107.23. Is there an explanation for the difference in the price? Thanks in advance!

First off welcome aboard! Yes, the open and close prices may be a little different from other sources. The main reason is Quantopian uses the last traded price as the close price for a security. This is the last price at which a 'typical' order filled. It does not include final auction orders. Yahoo, and other sources, often use end-of-day (EOD) prices which do include these final auction orders. There is a better explanation in this post which you may want to look at.

Hope that helps. Please do post any other questions in the forums here. Our community is very engaged and helpful.
