Don't know where to start.

Hello, I'm a young enthusiast with no experience on coding. I have tried to learn the basics from the tutorial videos but that didn't seem to help. I want to learn all about algorithmic trading but don't know where to start. I would really appreciate if anyone could advice me a book which can help me get started.

Try udacity.com or coursera.com or codeacademy.com
Apart from coding (python?) and algorithms, you will need to learn about the stock market and stock exchanges, futures and options, indicators and technical analysis, some fundamental analysis, and some statistics.
Have I covered it all? I don't really know, I am still learning. But it is a fascinating journey, for sure.

Hi Efe,

The online courses mentioned above are great (free!) tools to learn Python. If you're interested in learning more about algorithmic investing, take a look at the resources in these threads:

Good luck and feel free to ask questions as you begin!

I am new too. Is R a good way to start?

Summer, I'm new as well, but given that quantopian uses Python for it's algo's, I'd think it's best to learn that first instead of R.
