Check out the FAQ and the help Docs for detailed explanations of how things such as data work on Quantopian.
For more information on Zipline check out its github page the backtested is open source so feel free to fork the repo and play around with it and examine it. We think this a great way to maintain an incredible backtested, the more eyes on it the better.
